An underground contemporary classical night.
The Always, Already There Ensemble is joined by three stellar singers at this celebratory concert marking the end of the Always, Already There weekend. The performance features the UK premiere of Olly Wilson’s stirring and prophetic song cycle, Of Visions and Truth, which meditates on mortality and oppression. The programme also includes the UK premiere of Hannah Kendall’s building a burning house, Jessie Cox’s subversive Sound of Music, and recent work by George Lewis. Each piece represents the richness of Afrodiasporic expression and lived experience across past, present, and future.
