Boston Symphony Orchestra performs Beethoven and Stravinsky at the Barbican Centre during their London residency. Tickets on Mood.
The Boston Symphony Orchestra’s residency reaches its climax with Beethoven’s best-loved symphony and Stravinsky’s electrifying Rite of Spring. 200 years after Beethoven’s death, the power of ‘The Fifth’ remains undiminished, building a monumental structure from its famous four-note opening. The programme concludes with Stravinsky's pagan ritual, a score that heralded a new era in music with its wild and tumultuous 1913 premiere.
