Tschechische Symphoniker Prag and Coro di Praga present a concert honoring two monumental works of classical music: Beethoven's 9th Symphony and Carl Orff's Carmina Burana. Traditionally performed at the beginning of the year in Berlin, these masterpieces are brought to life by the symphony orchestra alongside three vocal soloists and the Prague choir. Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is a powerful secular work featuring soloists and choir accompanied by instruments and vivid imagery, opening with the famous homage to the goddess Fortuna. This is paired with the iconic 'Ode to Joy' from Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony, a masterpiece he composed in complete deafness.
