A slow-burn opera night.
A groundbreaking opera exploring Black British experiences, telling an urgent national story of state violence through joy, love, laughter and pain. Written during the 2020 global racial reckoning, this production uses the operatic form's drama and music to weave an all-encompassing tale of identity and love. The work is brought to life by a visionary creative team, including writer-director TD Moyo and Ivor Novello-winning composer Renell Shaw. This co-production with Northern Opera Group combines classical music with contemporary theatre to create a ghost story and love story that navigates both joy and nightmares.
