Formed at the Cable Street studios in Limehouse, they are an old-style jazz band specialising in rags, blues, song-book foxtrots, and swing numbers. Their diverse repertoire from the 1850s to the 1940s also includes waltzes, beguines, tangos, and polkas. The ensemble's style draws heavily on the music of Django Reinhardt, the wider Manouche tradition, and Eastern European Klezmer styles, alongside classic swing hits from the legendary Barry Sisters.
