Reethaus presents Lightscape, a dreamlike song cycle by Doug Aitken, featuring recordings with the Los Angeles Master Chorale curated by Soundwalk Collective. Inspired by the mythology of the American West, the work blends minimalism with orchestral arrangements, propulsive synths, and repetitive vocal phrases that shift into abstraction. The project emerged from improvisational workshops between Aitken and the Chorale, further developed with artistic director Grant Gershon and producers Austin Meredith and Rodaidh McDonald. This event marks the first standalone presentation of the audio component, celebrating its vinyl release. The recording has been custom-spatialized for Reethaus's unique omnidirectional sound environment.
