The Carice Singers: The Song Sung True
An underground, slow-burn choral night.
Acclaimed vocal ensemble The Carice Singers with their conductor George Parris bring together seminal choral works from the 20th and 21st centuries, including rarely performed masterpieces by Jean-Yves Daniel-Lesur and Luigi Dallapiccola. Both composers reimagine archaic ideas in their individual modernist languages, producing works of richness and splendour. The programme also features the London premieres of four new works by fresh talent from the Composer Academy. The concert begins with Judith Weir‘s vibrant multi-movement piece The Song Sung True, which distills the life-giving activity of singing.
