King Hammond is Nick Welsh, a former member of Bad Manners, The Selecter, and Skaville UK. A prolific musician and producer, he has collaborated with legendary artists including Prince Buster, Laurel Aitken, Dave Barker, Judge Dread, and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Following his 1989 debut album Revolution 70, Welsh returned after a 21-year hiatus to release The King & I on N.1. Records. Beyond his performance career, Welsh is a versatile composer who writes music for television, film, and video games.
