Slow Pulp
Slow Pulp, the Chicago-based band consisting of singer/guitarist Emily Massey and childhood friends Henry Stoehr, Alex Leeds, and Teddy Mathews, returns with their third album Melodie. Their musical journey, rooted in 90s alt-rock and 2000s indie, has seen them navigate personal challenges—from Lyme disease to family injuries—to create a signature sound that blends power-pop energy with acoustic intimacy. Following their acclaimed debut LP Moveys and its follow-up Yard, which Massey partially wrote in isolation in northern Wisconsin, the band's latest work reflects a period of regrowth and reevaluation. Melodie showcases their evolved synergy, balancing euphoric melodies with heartfelt songwriting.
