Andrew Forbes Organ Recital
An underground, nostalgic classical night.
Andrew Forbes is an innovative Scottish organist who celebrates classic works while exploring new possibilities for the instrument, particularly through collaborations with contemporary composers. Appointed as Director of Music at Glasgow Cathedral at the age of 21, his performances have been praised for creating a symbiosis between artist and instrument, leading to invitations at major venues including the Philharmonie de Paris and St Paul’s Cathedral. Beyond his performance career, Forbes is an active advocate for the organ in modern society, chairing the Music Committee for Scotland’s Churches Trust and founding the Sowne of Organe project. He also directs the Glasgow Cathedral Festival and teaches at Glasgow University and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. A winner of the Northern Ireland International Organ Competition and a finalist at the St Albans International Organ Competition, he is frequently in demand as a collaborative pianist and producer.
