A nostalgic, underground chamber music night.
Rediscover one of Bach’s masterpieces as if hearing it for the first time. In Goldbergs Reimagined, arranger and conductor Robin O’Neill, together with Sinfonia Smith Square, offers a striking orchestral perspective on this astonishing work. Originally conceived for keyboard, Bach’s 30 variations on a single aria unfold here through a vivid spectrum of instrumental colour. Rather than altering Bach’s design, O’Neill expands it, allowing listeners to experience the familiar architecture of the variations through fresh sonorities and expressive possibilities. The result is both intimate and expansive: a compelling dialogue between Baroque brilliance and contemporary orchestral imagination.
