Keti Koti: Retracing Steps
Op 1 juli herdenkt en viert Nederland de afschaffing van de slavernij in Suriname en op de Antillen (Keti Koti en Dia di Abolishon). Tijdens deze middag staan we stil bij ons gezamenlijke verleden met ruimte voor ontmoeting, muziek en eten. Countertenor Arturo den Hartog stelde een programma samen met als middelpunt 'Retracing Steps' van Julian Tjon Sack Kie. Het concert wordt voorafgegaan door een gezamenlijke Heri Heri-lunch, een traditioneel gerecht van de plantages. Er wordt muziek vertolkt uit het Surinaamse klassieke repertoire naast hedendaagse composities.
