A queer, underground folk pop night.
Ringdown, Caroline Shaw and Danni Lee Parpan’s electronic pop duo, returns to the Barbican with songs from their 2025 debut album Lady on the Bike. Partners on stage and in life, Shaw has won a Pulitzer Prize and several Grammy Awards for her boundary-breaking compositions, and Parpan is a dynamic folk-pop singer-songwriter who writes emotionally stirring lyrics and relishes challenging how instruments are ‘supposed’ to be played. Ringdown’s songs celebrate human emotion, and many were written while the duo fell in love themselves. ‘We hope Ringdown’s music helps people feel everything they have been too afraid to feel,’ say Caroline and Danni Lee. ‘We joke and say that our greatest wish is that this music might make two people fall in love.’
