Leeds-born sitar virtuoso Jasdeep Singh Degun returns to Darbar Festival alongside tabla maestro Sukhvinder Singh Pinky. A restless innovator and custodian of tradition, Degun has recently released two albums and composed a sitar concerto, earning the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Instrumentalist award. This performance sees him returning to his Indian classical roots, collaborating with one of the art form's great masters to explore the infinite riches of raag and rhythm. The concert is part of his residency at the Barbican, showcasing his extraordinary creativity which continues to reshape the musical landscape.
