As their Wigmore Hall Residency ends, Il Giardino Armonico and Giovanni Antonini, visionary conductor and recorder virtuoso, are joined by Julia Lezhneva. The Russian soprano applies her delightful artistry to a selection of arias from Vivaldi’s operas and Haydn’s dark-hued dramatic cantata, Arianna a Naxos, with its heartfelt response to Ariadne’s abandonment by Theseus. The programme features works by Vivaldi, Telemann, and Haydn, showcasing the ensemble's command of the bel canto style.
