A nostalgic, raw chamber music night.
Experience an evening of intimate chamber music from three distinctive voices of the classical tradition, performed by the acclaimed London Concertante in a candlelit setting. At the heart of the programme is Franz Schubert’s String Trio in B-flat, D. 471 – a fragment that offers a glimpse into the composer’s early chamber style. Though unfinished, the work brims with Schubert’s characteristic lyricism and charm, its single movement unfolding with elegance and youthful vitality. Alongside this, the richly coloured String Trio by Jean Cras brings a different sound world to the stage. Cras creates music that feels both expansive and intimate, blending expressive harmonies with subtle rhythmic vitality. Completing the programme is the Divertimento Trio by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a masterclass in clarity, balance and wit. Effortlessly elegant, the work captures Mozart’s gift for melodic invention and conversational interplay between instruments, offering moments of both playful brilliance and refined beauty.
