The Cello Section Semifinal Round of the George Enescu International Competition 2026 takes place at the Romanian Athenaeum. The day is split into two sessions. The morning session features works by George Enescu with piano accompaniment. The afternoon session presents soloists performing with the Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra under the artistic direction of guest concertmaster Adrian Iliescu. This competition is a hallmark of the George Enescu Festival, celebrating classical excellence and young musical talent from around the world.
