Rockstar pianist Yuja Wang returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall, bringing her awe-inspiring technique and stage presence to Barber’s Piano Concerto. Described as a tumultuous duel between piano and orchestra, the piece features exhilarating chromatic runs and passionate passages. Conductor Kwamé Ryan makes his LA Phil debut, pairing the thrills of Barber with the mighty power and heroism of Copland’s brass-filled Symphony No. 3. This all-American program highlights Ryan’s first Grammy-winning artistry.
