Acclaimed pianist Yuja Wang returns to Walt Disney Concert Hall for a performance of Barber’s Piano Concerto. Described by the composer as both rhythmic and declamatory, the piece features passionate passages and chromatic runs that create a spirited dialogue between the piano and the orchestra. The evening marks the LA Phil debut of conductor Kwamé Ryan, who leads the orchestra through this all-American program that concludes with the heroic power of Copland’s Symphony No. 3.
