Final Repercussions
An underground, slow-burn egyptian pop night.
An evening of extraordinary sonic and visual experiences exploring the intersection of technology, testimony, and surveillance. The program features Lawrence Abu Hamdan's live audio essay "1000 White Plastic Chairs," performed in darkness with guitarist Fabio Cervi, reflecting on the Nuremberg Trials. The night also includes a new work by Busher Kanj, a composer from the Syrian Golan Heights, performed by Amr Mdah using field recordings and electronics. Felicia Atkinson presents a performance balancing the human voice against environmental elements, incorporating audio from Earshot's archive. The evening concludes with Radical Democracy (James Hoff and Ben Kudler), offering a journey through global surveillance systems accompanied by an immersive ambient soundtrack.
