Originally composed in 2002, Thomas Larcher’s Still explores the concept of a frozen video image and its potential for transformation. The performance features Timothy Ridout as the soloist in Benjamin Britten’s arrangement of Lachrymae for strings. The second half of the concert is dedicated to John Adams' Shaker Loops, a landmark work of American minimalism performed by the Britten Sinfonia under Larcher’s direction.
