Malika Collective are a South London-based group lead by guitarist and composer George Risk. With roots firmly planted in the fertile soil of the London Jazz scene, the band has evolved into a dynamic ensemble, drawing on a virtuosic cast of musicians each bringing their own unique flavours to the mix. The music of Malika Collective is a sonic tapestry woven with energetic groove and threads of intricately crafted melody. Expect unusual time signatures, synths blending with the timeless elements of jazz improvisation, and a fusion of old and new, tradition and innovation. Drawing inspiration from a vast spectrum of genres, the group fearlessly explores their sonic landscape, unloading influences from blues, rock, afrobeat, soul and dance music. Every Friday and Saturday night from 11.15pm, Ronnie Scott’s presents the Late Late Show, where some of the UK’s finest jazz talent takes to the stage for a late-night blowing session. A DJ will play sets before and after the live performance.
