The boundlessly creative brain of Devin Townsend is perpetually in motion. Forging a career over four decades in countless genres, Townsend has reached cult status in the progressive-metal world for his polymathic talent and continual pushing of the envelope. Townsend’s latest project, The Moth, his 29th studio album, is his most ambitious project to date. An orchestral, choral and theatrical conceptual metal opus that was sculpted over a ten-year period, The Moth encompasses a once-in a lifetime symphonic performance from Groningen in March 2025, but is now finally crystalline after countless recording sessions with world- class collaborators from across the globe. Townsend’s studio is the silk spun cocoon in which his dexterous voice, distinctive guitar sound and unrivalled imagination finally metamorphosises to a beautifully uncategorisable , career defining apex.
