Alexandre Kordzaia, electronic music producer, performer and composer (aka kordz), was born in Tbilisi in 1994 and grew up in a musical family between Georgia and Switzerland. In 2016 he completed the degree of Audiodesign at the Music Academy of Basel in Switzerland, where he studied the composition of Electroacoustic music as well as the Art of recording and sound engineering. During his studies Alexandre started his first significant collaboration with the electronic music artist Frederic Robinson with whom he performed at the Close Encounters Festival (Georgia/Switzerland) and the Festival Spectaculare (Prague). In the same year kordz received the opportunity to release his first single We've Been and his debut EP Qys under the label Prrrrrrr Records. kordz is inspired as much by Classical Composers such as Maurice Ravel, Igor Stravinsky as he is by Prince, James Brown, Ryuchi Sakamoto and Electronic Avant-garde pioneers like Bernard Parmeggiani. "That's sort of the dream: To have an image as an artist who is not really restricted by electronic or classical music. But also not being pegged simply as a "crossover" artist." kordz explains.
