The Place on Rugby

The Place on Rugby is an Indie Garage Rock band formed in Huntington Park, CA. The band credits its name from the street where they first began rehearsing. The Place on Rugby takes its musical influence from various eras of rock, primarily the 2000s and 2010s. With the added ambition of modernizing the sound to fit the current generation of Indie music. Frontman Jesse J. Martinez first began forming this project in 2018, inspired by bands/artists in the Alternative, Indie, and Garage rock scene. He began to write music out of the comfort of his bedroom with his Cherry Red Fender Strat, an audio interface, and basic knowledge of GarageBand. Although it was a rigorous journey, he followed his passion and created the various popular singles available today, such as "It's Too Late."(2019) "Therapy." (2020). And "Keep It Simple" (2021). The Place on Rugby is currently active playing gigs all over Los Angeles County and neighboring counties. They have also had the fantastic opportunity featured on various YouTube channels and Podcasts such as "The Hirst Brothers." Based out of Lake Simcoe, ON. And "Noisy Cavern." Based out of Orange, CA.
