An underground alternative rock act.
Described by the Glasgow Evening Times as “twisty, turny alternative rock,” their genre-mashing sound bridges the cerebral precision of math-rock with the cinematic intensity of post-rock… all anchored by soaring melodies and lyrics that unravel the complexities of memory, isolation and connection. Formed in Glasgow, the band have spent over a decade refining their sound through acclaimed releases including VM1, Radians, and We'll Be Listening and Remembering Until We're Old and Unsteady; earning support from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! and The Skinny, and headlining iconic Scottish venues such as King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut and La Belle Angelle. Now consisting of Robert Dick (vocals/guitar), Alan Conway (guitar), Kevin O’Hagan (bass), Chris MacKinnon (keys) and Pete Colquhoun (drums), Verse Metrics are currently in the release cycle for their first full-length album… an 11-track descent into deeper, darker territory that magnifies the tension between precision and chaos. Released on 28th July 2026, it marks the band’s re-emergence: a sharper, heavier and more emotionally resonant evolution of their trademark sound. The artwork for Descents was created by Scottish artist Michelle Campbell and has been gradually released with the pre-album singles. The band have not used any A.I. in the creation of their music or artwork.
