An underground choral night.
1 Milton St, London EC2Y 9BH
The Britten Sinfonia continues its close relationship with the music of Sir James MacMillan as the composer conducts his euphonium concerto. The work merges the sounds of the orchestra and brass band, inspired by MacMillan’s upbringing in a coal-mining town. The program also features Grażyna Bacewicz's mid-century neoclassical concerto grosso and an arrangement of Beethoven’s late String Quartet no. 14, marking the 200th anniversary of his death.
