A nostalgic, slow-burn classical night.
Star cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason performs Elgar’s deeply moving cello concerto, a work the composer considered his finest. Kanneh-Mason joins the Sinfonia of London for their second visit of the season under the direction of John Wilson. The programme also features Delius’ A Song of Summer and Vaughan Williams’ London Symphony. Kanneh-Mason has been a prominent figure in classical music since winning the BBC Young Musician award, with his Elgar album becoming the first classical release to reach the top ten in over three decades.
