Pulitzer Prize-winning composer and percussionist Susie Ibarra performs with her Talking Gong Trio, joined by Claire Chase and Alex Peh, along with the vocal ensemble HEX. The program focuses on sound as a physical phenomenon, featuring the world premiere of Ibarra’s commissioned work, The Water Dreams of Animals, which explores historical waters through meditative sound studies. The evening also includes compositions by Tania León, Leilehua Lanzilotti, and José Maceda that celebrate musical traditions from Hawaii, Cuba, and the Philippines.
