Jamila & The Other Heroes is a wild band 'from manywhere' that will make you fly with their psychedelic desert funk. Singer Jamila Al-Yousef, born in Berlin on the day the Wall came down, composes songs that appeal to a transcultural audience, identifying with diaspora stories and a musical fight against racism. As people with post-migrant family histories in Syria, Palestine, Italy, and Colombia, the band creates a sense of home and wanderlust in their music. Jamila's emancipatory message in Arabic and English is supported by powerful live musicians.
