Bertrand Chamayou joins as the soloist for Saint-Saëns’ exuberant Second Piano Concerto, described by one critic as beginning in church and ending at an orgy. The concert concludes with Rachmaninov's final masterpiece, the Symphonic Dances, a work filled with haunted waltzes and a powerful life force composed during the genius's time in exile.
