Le parcours initiatique de Marcus ne laisse pas indifférent. En quête de justice, mais aussi de victoires personnelles, en rapport avec des traumas probablement liés à l’enfance (on note d’ailleurs la qualité du flash-back traitant du parcours d’obstacles, brillant, très Michael Bayesque), son attitude est touchante. Il passe de Calimero à super héros dans une trajectoire dynamique, bien mise en scène (très bon rythme) mais aussi satisfaisant niveau effets visuels et sonores. Les 3 actes sont parfaitement respectés et les dialogues sont honorables, sans atteindre le niveau de Jean-Loup Dabadie. En 2026, on peut déplorer un certain manque de variété entre les races canines (quid des bergers suisses par exemple ?) mais cette notion n’est pas rédhibitoire tant le film nous emporte dès les premières minutes. À noter l’absence de projection en iMax 70 mm, dommage.
Heureusement que c'est le chien pompier le gros maladroit de la bande et pas le chien policier. Ça aurait fini en pat'bavure et un stégosaure se serait mangé une bastos.
