Bordeaux's march starts on the Esplanade des Quinconces and finishes on the far bank: it crosses the Garonne, from the historic centre to the Rive Droite.

Pride events cluster in the summer, but every city sets its own dates - Bordeaux often runs its march and its parties a month apart from the next city on this list.
Bordeaux's first Marche des Fiertés was held in 1996, with a few hundred people, as the march spread from Paris to the big regional cities. Three decades on it draws more than ten thousand. Today it is organised by Le Girofard, the city's LGBTQIA+ centre, around three principles it repeats every year: visibility, solidarity, demands. It is held in late spring, and the city builds a whole Mois des fiertés around it, a month of events across town. That puts Bordeaux on the street weeks ahead of Paris, which waits until the end of June.
The route carries weight of its own. The Esplanade des Quinconces is one of the largest squares in Europe, at the heart of eighteenth-century Bordeaux, while the Rive Droite was for decades the side of the city left out of the picture - and the march joins the two. The city's queer scene runs year-round, with most venues in the old centre, around Saint-Pierre near the river. The list here shows LGBTQ+ friendly events as a whole and not only the days of the march; out of season it thins to the venues' standing nights.
